Sale Mode Tweaks for Percentage off Prices Moded - CubeCart Tutorials - CubeCart Mods, Skins, Templates, Themes, Tutorials and Documentation from CC3.biz

Front-end behavior of store-wide sales mode is a little weak in CubeCart. This mod is being developed to meet some of those issues. The first issue, dealt with in mod version 1.0.0 has to do with the message a customer receives when using the Sale Items categories link while store-wide sales are in effect.

Stock CubeCart behavior is such that:

If store sell mode is individual sale per item, and you have
items with sale prices,

• Items on sale go into Sale Items box
• Items on sale are found in the search "Sale Items" from
category box.

If store sell mode is percentage off all items,

• Sale Items box disappears
• No items are returned on the search "Sale Items" from category
menu. I think this is because the search would simply return all
items in the store.

The biggest weakness here is the text that displays when the
search is made: "There are no products in this category."

This tiny hack changes that text to read, "Every item in the
store is presently marked down! Enjoy your savings." - when storewide sales mode is on.

WHAT IS A CUBECART MOD?

It is important to note for customers who are new and totally unknowledgeable about CubeCart and php modding, that when you purchase a CubeCart mod you are NOT purchasing a "plug and play" or rather an "upload and go" module.

CubeCart mods consist of INSTRUCTIONS for editing the core php code in order to add new functionality to your webstore. This means that to install the mod, you will have to open up some core CubeCart php files in a text editor, alter the files per instructions, then upload the altered files to your website. for those customers who are uncomfortable editing their website files, we offer options to install mods for an additional fee.
